Marisa Fernandez, RN

Marisa Fernandez, Registered Nurse, graduated from The College of New Jersey with a BA in Psychology in 2017. After graduating, she worked at Carrier Clinic as a Mental Health Technician.  There she supervised and supported the treatment of patients in an in-patient setting. Marisa has additional crisis intervention experience volunteering as a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line, a free support service for anyone in crisis. She then transitioned into our Psychiatric Technician role supporting the practice's clinical care team. Marisa graduation from Thomas Jefferson University in May of 2024 with a BS in Nursing and is a member of Sigma Nursing Honors Society.

​As the psychiatric RN at PFCA, Marisa works closely with patients and the clinical team to attend to a variety of patients’ needs as they arise. This role includes assessing patients for psychiatric medications, and further consulting with the psychiatrist and/or APNs to develop and institute an ongoing treatment plan, contacting patient about their treatment concerns, and offering patients clinical advice. Additional duties include researching and authoring much of the content for our PFCA Wellness Update quarterly practice newsletters. Marisa is also responsible for submitting prior authorizations requests to acquire approval from patient’s insurance pharmacy benefits, coordinating ancillary services, and other general case management concerns as indicated.
